SummerCamp @ExploreESL students become rich with knowledge and confidence.

This week for our Camping and Survival Summer Camp, ExploreESL students have talked in English and learned all about trapping and fishing. They have made fishing floats out of wine corks, rods out of bamboo and learned to tie fishing line attaching essential tackle. The have baited their hooks with worms and had an adventure getting to the fishing spot. For trapping they constructed cardboard box traps and set them up with bait in the park. This ‘caveman’ learning is fun and allows the students to face problems, understand concepts of trial and error, problem solving, construction, patience, perseverance and experiences in life. These are concepts not well taught in schools. Naturally speaking in English whilst learning skills for life, making us rich with knowledge and confidence!
